Rayito de Sol oil
calendula, mountain marigold, chamomile, jojoba oil, & rosehip oil
This is winter solstice medicine, a representation of the return of the rayito de sol (sun rays) in the darkest & coldest nights in the desert. This medicine was created as a symbol of my child's birth & my rebirth into parenthood. It was the first medicine that we created together, tending to our florecitas together, harvesting & processing together. These florecitas embody the medicine of the sun— elevating the spirit, a warm embrace like the sun rays in the morning.
Lutein & other carotenoids found in marigolds and calendula are components that mediate sun damage & provide for us an embrace from the sun that we can wholeheartedly appreciate. Lutein is a carotenoid, and carotenoids are precursors to vitamin A and retinoids. Lutein specifically has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, defends against free radical & oxidative stress, & protects tissue from sun damage.
This liquid gold can be used for the carita (lil face) to moisturize & provide a glow since it was infused with jojoba oil and rosehip oil. Although jojoba "oil" is called an oil, it is different from other seed oils in that it is a liquid wax and is similar to the sebum that bodies naturally produce. Our bodies can be more receptive to jojoba oil without causing breakouts, alleviating acne & dryness. Paired with rosehip oil, which has a fast absorbency rate, it allows the medicine of these florecitas to permeate easily through the skin.
Use this medicine as a moisturizer in the mornings & night, or apply to areas where you may be experiencing eczema, skin dryness, or superficial wounds to support healing.
